When rendering interior and exterior shots, it is difficult to get the right exposure to capture all details in shadows without blowing out the sky. A camera that could be set to get a neutral balance that would then also generate an under exposed and over exposed set of images that could either be HDR merged and be tweaked in the VFB or photoshop.
Images rendered in Corona are already high dynamic range. If you save to an HDR format such as EXR, you can adjust everything Photoshop etc. just as you could an HDR format (e.g. RAW) from a camera. Then, like an HDR from a camera, you can adjust levels, or mask areas and apply different exposures, etc. etc.
