The online platform for Corona users to submit, vote, and collaborate on creative suggestions.
The title may sound a bit confusing, but I couldn't come up with a better one. :)
Example use cases:
As in this thread: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=42435.0
The idea is to:
load a HDRI as the scene directly visible environment
(this is where the new feature is needed) set up the same HDRI, but e.g. rotated by 90 degrees as scene reflection environment override
when the original HDRI is rotated or adjusted in some other way, this is passed to the "instanced" node and additional 90 degree rotation is applied
More general: the ability to have two textures in the material editor where one is the "master" and another one is an "instance". If any UVW offset/scaling/rotation/tiling adjustment is made to the master, this is reflected in the instance plus other adjustments can be applied on top of it.
The original request is for environment maps. Currently, this seems impossible to do with Corona. It is possible with 3ds Max parameter wiring, but it's unintuitive, hidden deep in the ui, and would not be obvious, for example is one team member opens a project file from another team member.
If it could be extended to "any texture applied to environment or any other object/effect", that would be great.
