The online platform for Corona users to submit, vote, and collaborate on creative suggestions.
Dear Corona Renderer Team,
As a long-time user of Corona Renderer for 3ds Max (over 8 years now), I’d like to suggest a small yet impactful feature that could significantly improve workflow efficiency for many users.
Currently, setting up lighting with HDRIs requires manually importing and configuring an HDRI environment for each scene. While this allows for flexibility, it can become repetitive and time-consuming — especially for standard lighting moods like morning, noon, dusk, dawn, overcast, or coastal/sunset environments.
Compared to other rendering engines, the absence of built-in or curated HDRI presets feels like a missed opportunity. It would be incredibly useful to have a selection of high-quality, built-in HDRIs available directly within Corona’s UI. This would:
Speed up initial scene lighting setup
Provide consistency for quick lookdev and client previews
Lower the entry barrier for new users
Save time in architectural visualization pipelines
Even a small curated set covering essential moods (e.g., Dawn, Sunset, Overcast, Studio Neutral, Ocean Horizon) would make a big difference.
I hope this idea aligns with your goals of making Corona intuitive and artist-friendly. Thanks again for your amazing work — looking forward to future updates!
Where do you see this going in the UI?
