I just started to experiment with it and I do wonder if it will be possible to have corona lights or lights in general to affect the gaussian splat colors.
So my idea would be that you could capture an object or a scene with very diffuse/overcast lighting and then use these splats in rendering to have individual lighting affecting it - without transforming the splats into a Model and then retexture it.
Specially with 3D Humans i think you might get better results with light-affecting splats than with 3D-models - but thats just an idea.
Note: as of Corona 14, this is already possible in V-Ray (or at least in progress).
